New Dwelling EPCs for New Builds, Conversions & Changes of Use
Crowther Solutions provides accredited On-Construction Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for new-build dwellings, conversions and changes of use across the UK. New dwelling EPCs are produced using the SAP methodology and are lodged on the Energy Performance of Buildings Register following completion of the assessment.
What is a New Dwelling EPC?
A New Dwelling EPC is produced for a new build, conversion or change of use using the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP). Unlike an EPC for an existing dwelling, which is generally assessed using RdSAP, a New Dwelling EPC is based on the full construction and services information used for the SAP assessment.
The EPC must be produced and lodged by an accredited On-Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) following completion of the assessment.
From SAP Assessment to EPC Lodgement
Design-Stage SAP Assessment: Where we are involved from the design stage, we assess the proposed specification against the applicable Part L targets and identify areas that may require review.
As-Built SAP Assessment: At completion, the SAP model is updated to reflect the dwelling as constructed, including final fabric and building-services information and any applicable test results.
Part L Photographic Evidence: Where required, we review the photographic evidence supplied by the project team to support the as-built assessment and Part L compliance documentation.
Final EPC Lodgement: Once the assessment is complete and the required information is in place, the New Dwelling EPC is lodged and the relevant compliance documentation is provided.
